During our week-long trip to the stunning Isle of Skye, we had the pleasure of dining at The Three Chimneys to celebrate my partner’s 40th birthday, and it truly exceeded all expectations. The food was nothing short of exceptional. Although we don’t typically indulge in full-course meals, we found ourselves unable to resist the temptation to keep ordering. The highlight was undoubtedly the haggis, neeps, and tatties, which was prepared to perfection and presented beautifully. The cranachan was a delightful finish, balancing sweetness and texture wonderfully. My partner raved about the lamb, declaring it the best he had ever tasted, while the sticky toffee pudding was equally memorable—rich, moist, and utterly indulgent. The atmosphere added to the experience, with the restaurant situated next to the water and the charming sight of sheep wandering nearby. It created a relaxed and picturesque setting that complemented the meal perfectly. Moreover, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our visit. I wholeheartedly recommend The Three Chimneys at Talisker to anyone visiting the Isle of Skye. It’s an experience that will linger in our memories long after the trip is over.

Visiting with my husband for our wedding anniversary, this was the perfect treat & the most delightful dining experience for our wee celebration. What a beautiful location! The staff were all warm & welcoming, & I must give a very special shout out to the wonderful Philippa who really looked after us & made us feel very special. We so enjoyed talking with her about the island & the food. Each course was delicious beyond belief, thoughtfully curated & especially good for vegetarians like me, which might be surprising for somewhere specialising in seafood. I really loved all the colours & textures. I also enjoyed a really gorgeous mocktail since I had to drive us back afterwards. A final mention for the beautiful building & atmosphere, even the incredible drive there felt part of the experience. We really loved it there & we can’t wait to come back!

Wow! The food here is incredible. Locally sourced everything and couldn’t be any fresher. I sat and watched a sea otter whilst eating oysters and scallops.

Loved this place. We came here as a little celebration for my husbands birthday for lunch today. The service was outstanding and the food was the best we have had in a very long time. Fresh and tasty. Perfectly seasoned. The chef sure does know how to cook. They gave my husband a little gift too which he was grateful for and so was I as I know the chef was busy. The setting is perfect and the welcoming atmosphere is one that will be hard to beat. Thank you Three Chimneys Talisker for your kind welcome, outstanding service and perfect food.

Great place near Talisker distillery for food and drinks. Had some really nice options on the menu. Good cocktails , mostly with Talisker whisky as the base. Auld fashioned and Pencilin were definitely a hit. Booking is essential. Limited vegetarian options but beautiful ambience and impressive service with gorgeous views across the distillery and Loch. Highly recommended.

Top class place to eat and stay The Three Chimneys stands today as an acclaimed fine dining destination, but our story begins with remarkably modest roots. Originally a simple whitewashed cottage nestled on the shores of Loch Dunvegan, this historic building once served as a village shop for the local community of Colbost. The Birth of a Culinary Tradition In the 1960s, the cottage found new purpose when Peter MacAskill inherited it. His wife Joy transformed the village shop into a charming tea room, giving it the name that would become legendary: The Three Chimneys. What began as a quaint tea service soon evolved into a celebration of local cuisine. Joy began serving light lunches showcasing the island's natural bounty, with local fishermen delivering freshly caught lobsters, cod, haddock, and mackerel directly to the door.
